
Residents of Kyanaisoke Sub-county in Kagadi district have been urged to maintain peace and unity amid rising political tensions in the area.
The call was made this afternoon by the Kagadi Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Benjamin Tumusiime during a security meeting with residents.
The meeting aimed to address growing concerns over insecurity fueled by political differences.
Tumusiime emphasized that politics should not divide communities but instead serve as a platform for democratic choice and peaceful coexistence.
He asked them to focus on choosing leaders of their own choice without hatred or violence.
Kagadi District Police Commander (DPC) SP Kenneth Akampurira also issued a stern warning to individuals intending to incite violence due to political disagreements.
He stressed that anyone found breaching the peace will be apprehended.
He warned that they will not tolerate any acts of violence or intimidation.
He instead asked Voters to embrace harmony and dialogue.
Leaders from Kyanaisoke Sub-county, led by their Lc3 Chairperson Mugisa Yuda Tadeo, urged residents to avoid hatred based on political differences and to respect each other’s choices.
He says everyone has a right to choose a leader of his or her choice.
The meeting ended with a unified call for peaceful political engagement and mutual respect as the political season progresses.
